WHY NO PAST TREATMENTS WORKED?
(Prior to treatment in Heal Within®)
Because, the root causes to the patient's diseases (root causes to Stroke, High cholesterol, Diabetes type II, High blood pressure, etc.) were never treated & normalised by those past treatments. (The root causes to the patient's diseases were still present in her body).
Despite undergoing multiple treatments in the past, the patient’s multitude of diseases – stroke, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, and high blood pressure, persisted due to the failure of the past treatments to to identify and address the underlying root causes to those diseases.
The underlying root causes to her diseases being: (1) Gut dysbiosis and acidosis, (2) Toxins and heavy-metal toxicity, (3) Deficiency of essential nutrients, (4) Metabolic acidosis, (5) Hormonal imbalance, (6) Mitochondrial dysfunction, and (7) Low oxygenation. To achieve holistic healing, recurrence prevention, and lasting wellbeing, it is imperative to target and resolve these underlying root causes.
Unfortunately, the treatments done in the past only managed symptoms without tackling these root causes. Consequently, the patient’s conditions were not normalized but merely controlled, leading to a continuous health deterioration over time.

4. Causes & Root-causes to Medical Conditions
◉ Gut disbiosys & acidosis
What it is:
‘Gut Disbiosys’ is disruption to the gut-microbiome in the gut resulting in an imbalance in the microbiota, abnormalities in their metabolic activities & functions, and a shift in their local distribution. ‘Gut Acidosis’ is an over-acidification of the fluids in the gut.
Root-causes / Sources:
Acidic diet, Nutrient deficient diet, Gradually eroding heavy-metal in teeth fillings.
Mechanism:
Gut dysbiosis and acidosis can have profound effects on various aspects of health. When gut dysbiosis occurs, the balance of bacteria in the gut is disrupted, allowing substances like lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from specific bacteria to enter the bloodstream. These substances trigger inflammation, releasing pro-inflammatory substances like TNF-alpha and IL-6, causing chronic inflammation. This ongoing inflammation damages the inner lining of blood vessels (endothelium), making blood vessels stiffer and potentially contributing to elevated blood pressure over time. Additionally, gut dysbiosis and acidosis may increase oxidative stress by promoting the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which further contributes to endothelial dysfunction and vascular inflammation, elevating blood pressure.
In terms of blood sugar regulation, gut dysbiosis and acidosis play a role in several mechanisms. Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) can produce D-lactic acid, linked to brain fog and potential disruptions in blood sugar levels. Imbalances in gut microbiota are associated with insulin resistance, oxidative stress, inflammation, and immune system dysfunction, all contributing to elevated blood sugar levels. In diabetes, gut dysbiosis is connected to reduced production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which normally help regulate glucose and energy balance. Furthermore, gut microbiota dysbiosis is linked to bile acid dysmetabolism, a factor associated with diabetes and metabolic disorders.
Regarding cholesterol regulation, gut dysbiosis and acidosis impact various pathways. Changes in gut bacteria can generate substances like trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), associated with elevated cholesterol levels. Altered bile acid metabolism, influenced by disrupted gut microbes, affects cholesterol balance. Gut inflammation, often triggered by dysbiosis, contributes to increased cholesterol production and release into the bloodstream. Dysbiosis also affects the gut's role in short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production, crucial for lipid metabolism, potentially influencing cholesterol levels. Increased intestinal permeability due to dysbiosis allows harmful substances, like endotoxins, to enter the bloodstream, contributing to inflammation and disturbances in cholesterol levels.
In the context of stroke risk, gut dysbiosis and acidosis contribute to oxidative stress, damaging blood vessels and creating conditions favorable for stroke development. Dysbiosis influences bile acid metabolism, affecting cholesterol levels and promoting atherosclerosis—a buildup of plaque in arteries, increasing stroke risk.
◉ Essential-nutrients deficiency
What it is: Essential nutrient deficiency is low levels of one or more specific nutrients that are necessary for maintaining the condition and facilitating functions of organs in the body. Those nutrients can be within proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and salts.
Root-causes / Sources: Nutrient-deficient diet, Lack of full spectrum essential-nutrient supplementation.
Mechanism:
Vitamin D Deficiency - is a significant risk factor for ischemic stroke, impacting neuroprotective factors, arterial pressure, and cerebrovascular regulation. It's associated with impaired nutrient absorption and influences brain development, function, and immunomodulation, increasing the risk of ischemic stroke and vascular cognitive impairment. Insufficient vitamin D triggers mechanisms leading to high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar, and dyslipidemia. In osteoarthritis, vitamin D deficiency affects cellular behavior in joints, regulates inflammatory biomarkers, disrupts anti-inflammatory properties, and induces abnormalities in bone remodeling. For insomnia, vitamin D receptors in brain areas influencing sleep, its impact on melatonin and neurochemical systems, and anti-inflammatory effects contribute to sleep disturbances.
Magnesium Deficiency - inhibits insulin release and is linked to insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, and high blood sugar. It contributes to stroke through effects on vascular tone, blood pressure regulation, endothelial dysfunction, and platelet aggregation. In urinary tract symptoms, magnesium's role in muscle function, specifically in the bladder and pelvic floor, leads to increased muscle excitability, contributing to spasms and contractions.
Zinc Deficiency - impairs insulin release, cellular sensitivity to insulin, and beta-cell function, elevating blood sugar levels. It induces oxidative stress, potentially affecting thyroid function and increasing blood sugar.
Chromium Deficiency - reduces insulin sensitivity, impairs glucose utilization, and is associated with insulin resistance, leading to elevated blood sugar.
Vitamin C Deficiency - is associated with reduced insulin sensitivity, impaired glucose uptake, and elevated blood sugar. In insomnia, its antioxidant properties may impact mood regulation. For Ichthyosis vulgaris, impaired collagen synthesis results in skin changes.
Vitamin B12 Deficiency - contributes to high blood sugar through reduced insulin sensitivity, hindered glucose utilization, and increased oxidative stress. It increases plasma homocysteine, predisposing to occlusive vascular disease and high cholesterol. In stroke, vitamin B12 deficiency affects homocysteine regulation and neurological function. For insomnia, it impacts neurotransmitter synthesis, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, and increases inflammation and oxidative stress.
Folate Deficiency - leads to hyperhomocysteinemia, associated with increased stroke risk and oxidative DNA damage, contributing to ischemic brain injury.
Vitamin B6 Deficiency - contributes to stroke through increased plasma homocysteine and impacts insomnia through neurotransmitter synthesis, affecting sleep regulation.
Vitamin K Deficiency - is linked to osteoarthritis, affecting Matrix Gla Protein activation, leading to abnormal cartilage calcification. It may also contribute to inflammation and age-related degeneration in OA.
◉ Toxins & Heavy-metals
What it is: ‘Toxins' are any substances and chemical compounds that basically cause hindrance or malfunction to normal body processes or cause damage to any organ. 'Heavy metals' are a group of metals & metalloids that have relatively higher density and are toxic to the body even at ppb (parts-per-billion) levels.
Root-causes / Sources: Gradually eroding heavy-metals in teeth fillings, Toxins in consumer-food items.
Mechanism:
Organic toxins, such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) like PCBs and pesticides, can contribute to chronic conditions. In the case of high blood pressure, these toxins may disrupt the endocrine system, affecting blood vessel function and increasing vascular resistance. In terms of high blood sugar, POPs can induce insulin resistance and inflammation, impacting the regulation of blood glucose levels. Elevated cholesterol levels may result from disruptions in lipid metabolism caused by PCBs. The neurotoxic effects of certain organic toxins, like phthalates, may contribute to insomnia by affecting neurotransmitter balance.
Inorganic toxins, such as lead and arsenic, have been linked to various health issues. Chronic lead exposure may interfere with the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, increasing the risk of hypertension. Lead-induced oxidative stress and inflammation can also impact lipid metabolism, contributing to high cholesterol. Arsenic exposure may disrupt insulin signaling and promote inflammation, increasing the likelihood of high blood sugar. Both lead and arsenic may contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, increasing the risk of stroke. These toxins may also interfere with joint health, potentially leading to osteoarthritis.
Heavy metal toxicity, exemplified by mercury and cadmium, has diverse effects on health. Mercury may impair nitric oxide production, leading to endothelial dysfunction and high blood pressure. It can also interfere with pancreatic beta-cell function, contributing to high blood sugar. Cadmium exposure has been associated with disruptions in lipid metabolism, potentially contributing to high cholesterol. Both metals can contribute to oxidative stress and inflammation, impacting joint health and increasing the risk of osteoarthritis. Mercury's neurotoxic effects may lead to insomnia, while arsenic and cadmium may contribute to paresthesia by interfering with nerve function.
All these toxins can exert their harmful effects through mechanisms such as inflammation, oxidative stress, disruption of hormonal pathways, and interference with vital cellular processes.
◉ Systemic acidosis
What it is: Metabolic acidosis is a condition where there is an accumulation of acid in the body, leading to a decrease in blood pH and decrease in systemic oxygenation.
Root-causes / Sources: Acidic diet, Eroding Heavy-metals in teeth fillings, Cumulative effect of other root causes.
Mechanism:
Systemic acidosis can directly cause blood vessel constriction via hormones and nervous system activation. Acid-induced electrolyte shifts and inflammation can further damage blood vessels. Acidosis also affects kidney function, leading to fluid retention and increased blood pressure. Additionally, it may activate the RAAS system, further pushing up blood pressure.
Systemic acidosis, can influence blood sugar levels through multiple mechanisms. It disrupts pancreatic function, hindering both insulin secretion and its effectiveness in tissues. Acidosis also triggers the release of counterbalancing hormones that elevate blood sugar. Additionally, it can impede glucose uptake in tissues and, in severe cases, even drive the breakdown of tissues to generate more glucose. While the kidneys might attempt to compensate by excreting some excess sugar, this effect is often outweighed by the other processes. Fortunately, addressing the underlying cause of acidosis typically rectifies the blood sugar imbalance as well.
Systemic acidosis can directly dysregulate hepatic cholesterol homeostasis. Studies indicate that acidic stress disrupts the activity of key enzymes involved in cholesterol synthesis and bile acid synthesis, potentially leading to an imbalance in cholesterol production and excretion. Moreover, systemic acidosis acts as a potent inflammatory trigger, stimulating the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-6. These cytokines, in turn, upregulate genes involved in cholesterol biosynthesis and downregulate those responsible for clearance, further contributing to high cholesterol.
Systemic acidosis can trigger stroke through several mechanisms. It disrupts blood flow regulation, leading to ischemia. It activates clotting, increasing blockage risks. Acidosis also generates damaging free radicals and promotes brain swelling, adding pressure and possibly causing hemorrhages. Furthermore, it disrupts nerve signals and brain metabolism, worsening cell damage. These effects, especially on pre-existing conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes, can significantly increase stroke risk.
Systemic acidosis may accelerate osteoarthritis through a multi-pronged attack. Acidic environments activate enzymes that gnaw at cartilage, disrupt the vital functions of chondrocytes, throw off the delicate balance of bone-building minerals, ignite inflammatory pathways, and unleash damaging oxidative molecules.
Systemic acidosis contributes to insomnia through various mechanisms - Neurotransmitter imbalance, particularly affecting serotonin and GABA, along with hormonal disruption, specifically the regulation of melatonin, could disturb the sleep-wake cycle. Metabolic changes, sympathetic nervous system activation, and inflammatory responses could indirectly influence sleep patterns.
